  • Whetley's World Cup Final

    19th July 2018 - Whetley Academy
    The Year 6 students took on the Whetley Academy staff, in a closely contested football match yesterday. Over 500 students were outside to watch the game and cheer on the Year 6 students. The match was full of action from start to finish and saw the Year 6 students come out victorious in a 9-7  win. It was throughly enjoyed by students and teachers and a fantastic way to say good bye to our fantastic year 6 students.
     
  • Y6 Residential

    19th July 2018 - Whetley Academy

    Year 6 were extremely lucky to go on a 3-day residential trip to Caythorpe Court, Lincoln. They took part in a wide range of activities including; quad biking, raft building and the giant swing. They had lots of fun during their team building events and really enjoyed their last trip together.

  • Final Day Arrangements

    19th July 2018 - Ash Hill Academy

    Friday 20th July is the last day of term.  Students will be involved in our Academy Sports Day, so they should wear their PE kit.  Students will be allowed to leave site earlier than normal.  The details are as follows:

    12:00 – 12:30 Lunch then depart

    Year 7 & 8

    12:30 – 13:00 Lunch then depart

    We are very sad that our Year 6 children will be leaving us this week to start Secondary school in September.  Today we had a very emotional leavers assembly to say goodbye.

    This year we had our first every Year 6 Prom at Pheasant Bank Academy.  It was a fantastic night and a great way to celebrate everything that the children have achieved in their time at Pheasant Bank Academy.

     

     

     

  • Visit to Leeds City College

    18th July 2018 - The Elland Academy

    Our Year 10 students were invited to attend Leeds City College printworks campus in order to have an experience of the courses that are on offer at Leeds City College.

    Our first session was to experience a taster session in Public Services, our students were fully engaged in learning how to put somebody in handcuffs- including Mr Nichols! During the session students were able to ask questions about life in the armed forces and what qualifications are needed to work in the different public services.

  • Inter-house football

    18th July 2018 - Green Lane Primary Academy

    Wednesday last week saw the final inter-house competition of the year, the UKS2 football! It was wonderful to see lots of children representing their house.  Like the World Cup in Russia, there were some high scoring matches with four goals being scored in four of the matches. The scoring system was the same as in previous competitions: 5 points for a win, 3 for a draw and 1 for a defeat. Here are the results:

    This week some of our Y7 students have been creating ideas for and leading their own art lesson! These amazing hedgehogs are made from recycled books and were made by our amazing 7.3 art class in their student led art lesson!

  • Multi Cultural Week

    18th July 2018 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    As part of our annual multi cultural week Y9 GCSE religion and ethics students took part in creating some small gifts to send off to a school in India that will hopefully become a partner school in the future.

    Book marks, key rings and lots of other lovely thoughtful gifts were created.

    Please note that the complimentary uniform bundles for our incoming Year 7 students are now available to collect from the academy.

    Should you wish to make any additional uniform purchases, or alternatively any replacements, this can be done on one of our "pop-up" shops during the summer holidays. Details of these shops can be found on our homepage.

    On Thursday 16th August 2018 between 10.30am -3pm there will be a pop-up shop at the Academy to purchase uniform for both Primary and Secondary pupils.

    17th July 2018 - Green Lane Primary Academy

    It has been another fantastic year for music at our school. I was thrilled to see how far the musicians have come when I saw them perform at the concert. This is down to a lot of hard work and a passion for music so they should be very proud of themselves. The choir have had their busiest year yet. We started off with the Christmas concert and then sang for the church and the community during the Spring Term.     17th July 2018 - De Warenne Academy

     

    On Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th July and Thursday 12th De Warenne Academy rocked to the sound of the Queen. Students have spent 7 months rehearsing for the show and were al very proud of their work. Our significant investment in the students and the technology made the show the biggest De Warenne has performed.

    17th July 2018 - Ash Hill Academy

    Students were rewarded for their outstanding efforts throughout the year in our annual Presentation Evening.  Our special guest for the evening was Andy Roe, a member of the Ash Hill Alumni Network, who spoke to students about his career as a professional photographer.  He displayed some of his work, which included photographs of professional athletes, including footballer Lionel Messi, musicians, including Michael Ball and Alfie Boe, as well his work used in news reports for both local and national publica
