  • Bookbuzz 2017

    27th September 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

    Bookbuzz 2017 was launched in the library this week to all our pupils in Year 7 and 8

    Once again the children’s charity ‘Booktrust’ have carefully selected a fantastic collection of twelve children’s books which our Year 7 and 8 can choose from to read and keep.

     The books will be funded from this year’s library budget.

    The books are available to school at the reduced cost of £3.00 per book.

    By using School Gateway you will be able to:

    • View behaviour and achievement information
    • View attendance data
    • View timetable data
    • Check and update the contact details that we hold for you
    • View details of any medical conditions that we have on record
    • View reports (only during the weeks when reports are sent home)
  • Peer Mentoring

    26th September 2017 - Serlby Park Academy


    Our Peer Mentoring Scheme was set up in April 2017and from then it has gone from strength to strength.

    In the summer term Year 9 students are invited to apply for the role of “Peer Mentor” and following a rigorous interview process 12 are selected. They then take part in various training sessions in order to develop their skills and prepare them for their Peer Mentoring roles.

    On 18th September, our Post 16 students met with Debbie Burton, Partnership and Engagement Officer from Doncaster Council.  Debbie led a presentation on The Doncaster Youth Council.

    The Youth Council are a diverse group of local young people (aged 11-19) who want to ensure the voices of the young people in Doncaster are heard.  They provide a forum for young people to have a voice on the things that matter, highlighting issues that affect young people.  The Youth Council represent and communicate the views o

  • Year 5 on the hunt for King Arthur

    Our children were lucky enough to go back in time to explore a real castle as we learned more about the history of those that lived in the middle ages. The children enjoyed wearing armour, firing a bow and arrow and hearing tales about knights and lords.
