Teaching School Hubs

Our teaching school hubs for Barnsley and Doncaster, and Selby and Wakefield, are designated to Grange Lane Infant Academy in Doncaster.

Within our hub communities, there are many ways in which colleagues can contribute to, and gain from, the high-quality professional learning opportunities for colleagues at every stage of the profession, from initial teacher trainees to executive leaders.

Early career teachers and their mentors benefit from the fully funded two-year Early Career Framework, delivered in partnership with UCL Institute of Education. The ECF supports the development of expert classroom practice recognising the pivotal role of high-quality mentoring in teacher development. For more information, visit:

Middle and senior leaders can participate in one of the National Professional Qualifications (fully funded for all state-funded schools and state-funded 16-19 settings), offered in partnership with Education Development Trust. The suite of NPQs provides a golden thread of evidence-based professional learning linking all members of the teaching profession. The programmes are practical and engaging, and provide everyone with the opportunity to become part of a local community of practice, and take the next step on their career pathway with confidence. If you are looking for subject support in your school, the hub can signpost a range of DfE accredited CPD providers who can help with your school improvement priorities.

All our programmes are underpinned by the best available research evidence and delivered by credible, proven local leaders and expert teachers, who have a track record of positive impact on outcomes for students in our communities.
