Hull Trinity House Academy Celebrates ‘Good’ Ofsted Rating

Hull Trinity House Academy is proud to announce it has been rated ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted following its April 2025 inspection. This result reflects a school that continues to evolve with purpose, grounded in tradition, but focused firmly on the future.

Under the strong leadership of Principal Daniel Flack and the guidance of Delta Academies Trust, the academy has built an inclusive, aspirational learning environment where every student is encouraged to grow in confidence, character and knowledge.

Ofsted inspectors recognised the unique identity of the school, noting the pride students take in its rich maritime heritage. Daily parades and a respectful culture help create a powerful sense of belonging, with students saying they enjoy being part of this distinctive community.

Academic progress remains strong, supported by a curriculum that builds knowledge over time and helps students achieve well in public examinations. The school’s focus on literacy is having a real impact, early readers and pupils for whom English is an additional language benefit from expert support, while a genuine love of reading is being fostered across the school. Inspectors commented that “the school has very high expectations for pupils who perform well in public examinations,” recognising the academy’s ambition and drive for excellence.

The academy’s inclusive ethos stands out. Students with special educational needs and/or disabilities are supported effectively and sensitively, ensuring they thrive alongside their peers in a culture that values every learner.

Personal development is a key strength. Whether students are working towards pilot licenses, exploring maritime careers, leading charitable initiatives, or taking part in community projects, they are empowered to shape their futures with confidence and care.

Staff feel valued and supported, and inspectors highlighted the academy’s positive culture of professional growth. Leaders and the wider Trust are committed to giving every student the best possible start in life.

New behaviour systems are embedding well, helping to maintain a calm and focused learning environment. Initiatives such as “Feel Good Fridays” celebrate success and attendance, further strengthening the school’s sense of community and motivation.
