Wraparound Care
The academy offers a breakfast club from 7:45am and an after-school club until 5:30pm. From September, breakfast club will be free for all pupils, with provision available from nursery to Year 6.

Reading is at the heart of everything at Strand. The academy uses the ELS phonics programme to ensure all children develop strong early reading skills. Regular assessment helps identify and close gaps quickly, and every child receives a book bag and nursery rhyme book to support reading at home.

Wraparound Care
A breakfast club is available from 8:00am each day, providing a positive start to the morning. From September 2026, this will be available free of charge for all pupils.

Willows Academy is proud to be part of its local community. Pupils work with organisations such as the Canoe River Cleaner to help care for the River Freshney and surrounding area.
