Delta Leadership Pathways

We offer four levels of internal leadership development, combining practical experience, mentoring, and structured learning:

Level 1 – Middle Leaders

· One-day placement at another Delta Academy focussed on an area of interest

· Participation in 3 Delta Expert Knowledge Sessions

· One-to-one mentoring session with an experienced leader around leadership development

· Completion of Delta Managing Capability training (half day)

Level 2 – Senior Leaders

· One-day shadowing placement at another Delta Academy aligned to area of interest

· One immersion day in the summer term

· Participation in 3 Delta Expert Knowledge Sessions

· Organise an experience day for a Level 1 delegate or provide virtual leadership support to those on the Level 1 pathway or facilitate a Level 1 Expert knowledge course

· Completion of the Delta Investigation training (full day) or Hearing training (half day)

Level 3 – Principals

· Two experience days with existing Principals at other Delta Academies.

· Participation in 3 Delta Expert Knowledge Sessions

· Act as facilitator on the Expert Knowledge L2 course

· Completion of the Delta Investigation training (full day) or Hearing training (half day)

· Opportunity to spend a day with an executive team member in external settings

· Presentation to ELT/Board on leadership development

Level 4 – Executive Principals

· Act as a facilitator on the Expert Knowledge L3 course

· Shadowing executive leaders in multiple settings, including beyond Delta

· Attendance at committee meetings with ELT throughout the year

· Plan an immersion date for Level 2 delegates / plan and deliver experience days for levels 3 delegates

· One-to-one session with CEO focussed on leadership development

· External experience in other highly successful Trusts

· Presentation to ELT/Board on leadership development

· Undertake training on Corporate Governance

· Present externally on behalf of Delta Academies Trust
