Crookesbroom Primary Academy Named Top School in South Yorkshire

We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Crookesbroom Primary Academy, which has been recognised as the top-performing state primary school in Doncaster and South Yorkshire in the 2023/24 academic year. The school, part of Delta Academies Trust, also ranked fifth overall in Yorkshire, reflecting its unwavering commitment to excellence in education.

With an incredible 96% of Year 6 pupils meeting the government’s expected standards in reading, writing, and maths (far surpassing local and national averages) Crookesbroom is setting a benchmark for academic success. However, for Headteacher Rob Harvey and his dedicated team, education goes far beyond test scores.

The academy prides itself on developing well-rounded, ambitious young people who are prepared for life beyond the classroom. From cultural experiences and language learning to environmental initiatives and community outreach, pupils are encouraged to explore the world, respect diversity, and embrace new opportunities.

Mr. Harvey believes in fostering ambition and high aspirations. “We always aim for the top. If you don’t aim high, you won’t reach it,” he says. His vision is clear: to inspire pupils to dream big, break down barriers, and pursue exciting futures, whether that means studying at top universities, working abroad, or making a difference in their local community.
