Dance in a Day: The Laurel's Celebration of Movement Returns

The event has grown so much in two years with nine primary schools attending this time, bringing together more than 250 students across the two days.

Organiser Heather Beardshall said the atmosphere on both days “buzzed with excitement”.

“Dancers of all abilities collaborated, supported one another, and pushed themselves creatively,” she said.

“It was truly remarkable to see how quickly routines came together, reflecting not only talent within our primary schools, but also the dedication of our Sports and Dance leaders.”

The excitement did not end there. Following the workshops, 85 students from the Academy took to the stage for a spectacular Dance Showcase. The performance featured an impressive 19 routines, with

Heather said: “The showcase highlighted the versatility and commitment of the students.

Every routine demonstrated confidence, expression, and a genuine love for dance. It was clear that the students had poured their hearts into their performances, resulting in a truly captivating show. We are incredibly proud of everyone involved and look forward to seeing even more amazing performances in the future.”
