Delta's First Primary Careers Fair!

Last week in collaboration with Ambition Unlimited, we hosted our first ever Primary Careers Fair at the Education Exchange.

We were delighted to see over 400 pupils in Year 5 + and Year 6 from 17 of our primary academies attend the two day event.

Upon entering the building, pupils were given coloured lanyards and a timetable to match their group for the day. They were welcomed by Delta colleagues at The Education Exchange, Sarah Ward and Hollie Clarke (Ambition Unlimited) and Donna Brown (EP). Kicking of the day, Trudi Bartle (Deputy CEO) and Andy Barnett (CEO) talked enchantingly about their careers and built up excitement for what the day had to offer.

Throughout both days, pupils rotated through sessions with different employers, taking part in interactive activities, asking questions, and learning first-hand about a variety of career pathways.
The event was filled with enthusiasm, curiosity, and brilliant conversations as students explored different industries and began to understand how their learning connects to future careers.

Employers were overwhelmed by their interactions with the pupils, commenting how inquisitive they were, asking very mature questions about what it’s really like in their world of work.

A huge thank you to all the employers who gave up their time to host several sessions across the two days.

These sessions were hosted by:

  • Ian Straw CMgr FCMI (Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts/ Vulcan to the Sky Trust)
  • Becky Gill (Magna Science Adventure Centre
  • Tom Butterworth (Club Doncaster Foundation)
  • James Bank (Doncaster College)
  • Paula Carter (Inicio Success)
  • Daniel Tinnion & Remi Luke (Active Fusion)
  • Darren Needham (The ARK Media)
  • Brad Danks (Kitlocker)

Also a thank you to Jag Singh (Principal, Heckmondwike Primary Academy) and Mikaela Moore (Head of Academy, Hatfield Woodhouse Primary Academy) for hosting a session of careers in education.

And of course, none of this would have been possible without Sarah, Hollie and the whole Ambition Unlimited Team!

Due to the success of this event, we are planning a whole careers week for all our Year 5 pupils in November 2026. If you are an employer and are interested in taking part, please get in touch with Sarah: s.ward@ambitionunlimited.org
