Hull Trinity House shares GCSE successes
The Academy is dedicated to the raising of standards and students’ aspirations and the outcomes this year are testimony to the hard work, determination and resilience of our students and the commitment and unstinting support of our staff. The results achieved, in spite of the significant challenges and upheaval that the pandemic has created, will help our students to positively pursue their future ambitions.
There are many success stories in the class of 2021, with very strong performances across various subjects, but there are some particularly noteworthy achievements: Will Stewart gained eight grade 9s and two grade 8s and is enrolled in college for September with his sights fixed firmly on going to university, hopefully to study medicine.
Another notable performance was that of Finlay Ledger, who achieved seven grade 9s and two grade 8s. Eventually, he is looking to pursue a career as a commercial airline pilot and already has his sail plane license and is soon to be awarded his Civil Aviation Authority licence.
Ben Johnson also performed very strongly, attaining seven grade 9s, a grade 8 and a grade 7. He is now going to study A levels in maths, physics, and biology. We are also incredibly proud of the large number of our students who have met or exceeded their ambitiously set targets and made really strong progress in their time at Trinity.
Many of our Year 11 students are enrolled in either further education or training for September and we wish them all the very best for the future as they embark upon the next exciting chapter in their lives.
Chair of Governors, Mike Rymer said,
“The students and their teachers should be congratulated on producing a strong set of results in the most challenging of circumstances, determined through a rigorous and robust evidence gathering and assessment process. I would like to wish all of our Year 11 leavers the very best for their futures.”
After meeting students and their parents and carers, Graham Moffatt, Principal said,
“I am thrilled that, despite the most turbulent and difficult 16-month period in education that I can recall, the combined dedication of our students, staff and parents and carers has culminated in these well-earned results, some of the most impressive in the school’s history which continues the trend of excellent performances over the last four years. Hull Trinity House Academy is a school where everyone can succeed with the right application and dedication.
These outcomes are testimony to both the hard work of students and staff and a sheer determination to achieve success collectively, regardless of the challenges faced. We wish all our students well in their next steps in education, training or employment, and look forward to hearing about their future achievements”.
