Percy Jackson the Musical: A Trip to the Theatre Enjoyed by Key Stage 3 Students

Head of Humanities Cate Mayoh said their behaviour was amazing and they were fantastic. Percy Jackson is a favourite with students who love the books, television show and films . . . but the musical took it to the next level. The fast pace kept the party on its toes, and the students were enthralled from the first note. They loved every moment, as Percy’s journey with Grover and Annabeth was followed to find Zeus’ lightning bolt and rescue his mum from the underworld.

Cate said: “It was a fantastic evening and the students had an amazing experience.”

Year 8’s Ethan said: “It was like no other musical I’ve ever been to.”

For Lilybeth, in Year 9, it was the first time she had been to the theatre. “My favourite character was Grover,” she said. “I also loved how much detail there was in the set and the characters’ costumes. Overall, it was an amazing experience.”

Ellee (Year 7) said: “It was my first time going to the theatre. It was so fun and lively and so many flashing lights made it so exciting.”

“We enjoyed it. Percy Jackson was my favourite character and the acting was amazing,” said Reagan-Jay in Year 9.”
